How to Participate
Have a fundraising idea in mind but don’t know how to make it happen?
The Lung Association’s Fundraise My Way hub gives you an easy way to join our breathing movement by creating your own fundraising page to raise funds for vital lung research and programs. It also gives you access to our team members for additional support.
WHAT YOU CAN DO IN 7 EASY STEPS
Use the Fundraise My Way hub to set up an engaging page for yourself or your team that tells people the compelling reason of why and how you are fundraising. Your fundraising page is a convenient place for you to tell the story of your event:
- Share the reason you were inspired to begin fundraising.
- Add captivating photographs to illustrate your story.
- Call on your community and network to join you in your fundraising efforts.
- Track your progress until you reach your goal.
Set a goal. Dream big! You’d be surprised at how much you can actually raise.
Decide how you are going to fundraise. You can host an event like a golf tournament, dinner party or walkathon.
Share your page on social media and with everyone you know.
Track your fundraising progress.
Share your successes on your social media platforms.
Thank everyone who helped you reach your goal.
THEN CELEBRATE THE DIFFERENCE YOU’VE MADE IN THE LIVES OF PEOPLE LIVING WITH LUNG DISEASE.
FUNdraising is about having fun and raising money but it’s also about being safe and doing things legally.
So when you read through our Fundraising A to Z ideas, make sure to keep in mind that with each event there will be some legal and/or health and safety implications. That could be anything from needing a music license to ensuring there are no copyright violations. To be on the safe side, call our team and they’ll be able to point you in the right direction on legal requirements.
The formal bit
The Lung Association cannot accept liability for any loss, damage or injury suffered by you or anyone else as a result of taking part in aid of a (third party) Lung Association fundraising event.
If you are taking part in a high risk fundraising event such as a skydive, it is crucial that you speak to our fundraising team who will send you an important letter that you must agree to. This letter covers your responsibilities and outlines the potential risks.
