Reach new heights! Our Step Up & Breathe events are a great way to challenge yourself physically. Stairclimbing and pulls are great sport that improves the fitness level of each participant and burns more calories than walking or running. To climb or pull successfully, the Lung Association strongly urges all participants to train before embarking on the ascent or pull.
From experienced athletes to first timers, our events are a challenge that everyone can step up and meet!
Like with any athletic activity, you need to find the elements that work for you. To help get you started, here are some tips:
- If you are new to climbing stairs or participating in pulls, then start slow and build up your tempo.
- To reduce the risk of injury, place your ensure that you wear appropriate footwear.
- Post your event take a couple of minutes to cool down and stretch. This will help keep your muscles from being sore.
